What January Holds

I thought of making a post where I list all the things that I'm looking forwards too this coming January, since in shallow Teensplop world, there are quite a lot of them. Here they are!

I AM ANTICIPATING:

- SNSD's I Got a Boy Korean comeback!!!
This is their first Korean comeback since The Boys, which was released October 19, 2011. That is over a year ago, so it's about time! Not that they haven't been busy, of course. Since then, they've been busy with a subgroup as well as at least three Japanese singles and they've each had their individual acting careers and endorsements.
The album and MV will be released January 1st (tomorrow). There will be a dance version and a story version to the title track. As you know, the album will be released in ten different infuriating versions. Here's how I would prioritize them, if I were in a position to buy any at all:

- Group Edition

- Tiffany

- Seohyun

- Taeyeon

- Yuri

- Jessica

I actually kind of want Yuri's and Jessica's more than Taeyeon's, just because they are better suited to this concept, I think. But I will remain loyal! It's weird though, because I have a feeling that Jessica's will turn out as one of the bests picture-wise. I definitely don't want Sunny's because it would have that horrible picture of her on the front. Blech.
Anyways, it's gonna be SO AMAZINGLY AMAZING!!!

- SNSD's I Got a Boy comeback show
There's a teaser for this show on allkpop, which they've already filmed, and will air on January 3rd. It seems like a work of rather epic proportions, probably including all sorts of non-album solo acts (possibly in English???) I can't wait to watch.

OMG.... Seohyun.... you've got a GUITAR!!!

- Pretty Little Liars Third Season resumes with episode 14

After three unbearable months of Not-Pretty Little Liars, PLL is back! Mona is being released from the asylum and the girls are freaked out and everyone thinks she's psycho, etc., plus Toby is an evil creepy maniac and Spencer doesn't know, as demonstrated in the creepy hot tub sneak peak.

Plus Garett is dead, after telling Spencer that Aria's dad was with Ali the night she died - as far as we know, the last person to talk to her. Nate is still dead, which is probably troubling. Lucas is still disturbed. Mona, as we know, is still a CRAZY PSYCHO PERSON!!! Airing January 8th.

- Ali's Pretty Little Lies shall be published

The same day the television series is revived, Sara Shepard returns to the tabel (only a month after the release of Burned) with Ali's Little Lies, the first book from Ali's point of view, as well as the only current one with ALI ON THE FREAKING FRONT COVER!!!

                  AAAAAAAAH!!!

I seriously cannot express with words how freaking exciting this Ali doll is to me, but I shall try to sum it up with THE ALI DOLL IS PRETTY FREAKING EXCITING.

OMG, this is like the perfect Ali doll.

I don't know who will be modeling on the back cover, but I'm really hoping it will be Sasha Pieterse. For those of you who don't know (ha), Sasha plays Ali on the TV show. Honestly, I think it would be totally awesome. Sasha is a pretty good Ali appearance-wise, and it would just be so cool.

I haven't really been that pleased with the models for the other books. Emily is okay-ish... unless it turns out that the Spencer person is supposed to be Emily, in which case NO. Aria is a pretty good match, except she has this deep scowl all the time, which is a bit silly.

Anyways, please please pleas be Sasha. Or someone else, if you want to. Just look like Ali!

OMG, what if there's more pictures or inside stuff on Amazon? Only eight days before??? I MUST GO CHECK!!! Sigh, no. Well, I'm really looking forwards to that. It's unlikely that I'll get it when it only comes out four days before my birthday... maybe I could ask for it from Clarissa or someone. Friends are generally pretty last minute anyways.

                So yeah.

- My Birthday

Fun. Unless I have a party. Then not as fun. But still. Fun. Yummy food. Cake, or something. Presents. Yay. Lookin' forwards to THAT. :)

That's all that I know the dates for, but there are a lot of comebacks that are supposed to happen at the beginning of the year. T-ara's comeback promoting new Dani, Sistar19's return, a bunch of other groups that I don't especially care about... but I'll let you know!

Anyways, that's it for now.  Happy New Year, self-audience! Have fun in Mexico! Get lots of sleep tonight!

Burned

Today I went to Barnes and Noble to buy a copy of Burned for the trip to Mexico. I told mom that of course this book would be there, but she wouldn't take my word for it, so I had to call in and make a reservation.

Sure enough, when I went there, the shelves were piled with copies.

I can't read it yet, which is tough.

I'm glad I got it, though, because Clarissa got all the books for Christmas, the ones that she hadn't read yet. It wouldn't be fair if she got to read it first, when I've been following the series as it comes out.

Unfortunately, I accidentally promised Mom to repay her a five dollar bill I had borrowed when I did not have one to spend. I ended up stealing a five dollar bill from Benjamin's room. It makes me feel guilty.

He was probably going to spend that on a present for me too. What if he can't, now? I know that's a really selfish reason for guilt... but I wouldn't have had to steal it if I hadn't lent him $10 in the first place!

I'm hoping that Sally might go out of town and I could somehow repay him... but I'm still worried that he won't be able to afford me the present he wanted to. I feel superbly bad about caring about that. But whatever. I could pay him in quarters, maybe? Too obvious? What can I do?

In Barnes and Noble there were some really epic notebooky things. There was like this super amazing sketchbook with high-quality black covers and a pretty asian-ish red-and-white-flower design. Then, in some similar artsy designs were notebooks with lined paper for journals and stuff.

And then, possibly best of all, a large book of staff paper with the same high-quality type of cover and sturdy paper. Twas awesome. It made me want to be re-inspired to do more music-y/writing-y/song-y things so that I would have a reason to buy and use them.

Actually, I think Mom might have gotten me one of those as a birthday present. After she went to Ross, she went back in and bought something. I don't know what.

While we're on that topic, let's make a wishlist!

- Music staff paper notebook
- Journal
- Books
- Sketchbook
- Kpop albums

And what would be really awesome is a little video camera. Emma just got this camera that is super epic. It's red and rubber-covered in a hard satisfying way that's like impervious to everything. You can film underwater with it. It's shaped kind of like a regular camera, but it can shoot great film in addition to pictures.

I don't know how much it costs. Maybe I could ask Emma? It would be awesome.

And of course Clarissa got some super expensive Sony video machine. I don't want that, because I wouldn't use it enough to be justified. I want something useful as both. And awesome.

Anyways, lots of cool stuff in the world.

Happy Birthday, Yuna!

Today was Ace of Angel's Yuna's birthday.

She turned 21.

We wish her well!

I Can Totally Recognize People

So this is the new teaser group picture thing for I Got a Boy.

And I'm basically posting this here with their names to prove that I CAN IDENTIFY MA PEEPS!!!

(That sounds kind of creepy. But no one reads this. So WHATEVER.)

From left to right: Hyoyeon, Sooyoung, Seohyun, Jessica, Yoona, Yuri, Tiffany, Taeyeon, and Sunny,

SO HA. I'M A TRUE SONE.

Also, in semi-related news, did you know that the I Got a Boy album shall be released in TEN DIFFERENT FREAKING EDITIONS? AAAAAAAAH! MIND EXPLODING.

SM. WHY DO YOU DO THIS TO US???

Each edition has a forty page photobook. And there's a different edition. FOR EACH FREAKING MEMBER? And what's the tenth edition? A group edition. The one you'd think they could just MAKE THE OFFICIAL RELEASE. Urgh, it makes my head hurt. The length that SM will go to make sure that I will NEVER GET ALL THEIR PRODUCTS. It's insane.

So it would seem that the pictures on each cover are the same as the teaser pictures that had been released. I can only imagine what the photobooks are like. 40 pages. FOR EACH MEMBER.

URGH I WANT THEM AAAAALLLL SM WHY DO YOU TURN ME INTO A GREEDY LITTLE MONSTER??? :(

Sigh.

Anyways, if I were an amazing rich person like Dylan, I would obviously start with the group, then proceed in this order:

Tiffany

Seohyun

Taeyeon

Yuri

After that it doesn't really matter. I guess I would do Jessica or Yoona next. Anyways, there'll be a ton of unboxing videos to walk. OH GLORY. I'll update you on those.

THIS IS RIDICULOUS.

(Btw, SNSD has socks just like T-ara)

I don't recall Taeyeon ever having pink hair... but whatever.

(And Yuri spelled Yoori? C'mon now, people.)

I Got a Boy Danse Teaser

OHMYGOOOOOOD!!!

Girls Generation, you are AMAZINGLY AMAZING AND AWESOME AND AAAAAAHHHH...

OH MY GOD.

THE DANSE TEASER FOR THE BOYS WAS RELEASED. OH MY GOD.

I can't even HANDLE IT.

Seriously, this is going to be the most amazing SNSD comeback ever. They look SO HOT in their closeups in the teaser! Like SUPER SUPER SUPER HOT!

Apparently Sunny has branched out into Multi-hair-color-crazy-chic.

OMG SEOHYUN, YOUR HAIR.

TIFFANY
YURI
YOONA
SOOYOUNG
HYOYEON
TAEYEON
AAAAAH CAN'T HANDLE IIIIIIIT!

Just cannot cannot wait.

I love the teaser so much! AAAAH! CAN'T WAIT!!!

Video Teaser

At long last! For SNSD's I Got a Boy comeback, so far we have pictures, and this tiny clip thing from the end of Dancing Queen.

But now, just today, an official storyline teaser was released. I was surprised that it would have any story happenings, because the director of the music video is the same who produced the Boys and some other music videos driven by sets rather than plot.

The teaser is awesome. They each are hanging out with their boyfriend. Being happy. Except Hyoyeon, who beats the crap out of him for being late. But they are so cute! This song is NOT I Got a Boy, but another song on the album called Romantic street. The official I Got a Boy song teaser will be released tomorrow.

Also, there are some new possibly teaser pics floating around on tumblr, but I'm not sure if they are official, because there is only like four of them, and none on allkpop.

Merry Christmas from our Favorite Celebs

It's really sweet that all these kpop people take the time to wish us lower folk their best on this hugely celebrated holiday. I have a large degree of christmas wanting right now. Sigh. It's not just because everyone else is celebrating it. It just seems like such a fun, cozy thing to do. Christmas tree. Presents in the morning, waiting for you all at once. Cookies. Friends. Family. Dad not being sad and lonely.
Maybe next year we could celebrate Christmas.

Anyways, tumblr and twitter are roiling with tweets and pictures and instagrams of celebrities in reindeer ears and Santa hats and whatnot. Really cute. Here are some of my favorite christmas pics all through the ages.

Jessica gets stylish in her new Santa hat.

2NE1 buckle up for a sleigh ride in their costumes as... sexy pink penguins.
From left to right: Minzy, Bom, Dara, and CL (!!)

After School have developed by far the most extravagant setting, as they lounge on a stack of giant presents,
managing to display both their extremely long legs, and their brilliant gold ribbon outfits.

SNSD in various sweaters, socks, antlers, and... high heeled converse. Wow.
From left to right: Yoona, Seohyun, Jessica, Sooyoung, Tiffany, Yuri, Taeyeon, Sunny, and Hyoyeon.
I don't know when they took this picture, but they are all very cute.

Secret seem to be huddled up very cozily on these long winter nights.
From left to right: Hyosung, Jieun, Zinger, and Sunhwa (wow, I can't believe I was able to do that!)

This shot was taken from Sistar's Christmas greetings video last year, which you can see below.

T-ara so young! Pre-Hwayoung, even. They look so cute! I love how all of the other girls are in these
knee high seductive bathrobe things, while Eunjung's just gloppin around in a big snowman suit. :)
Plus Qri's a tree.... AAAAAW...
From left to right: Qri, Soyeon, Boram, Hyomin, Jiyeon, and Eunjung.

Jia posted this picture to her fans. Nice and... morbid, Jia!

AAAAAW! Thank you instagram! This is Jia cuddling with her adorable little kitten.

Someone's a little impatient over at JYP...

Jessica... my little snow angel....

A recent picture of Soyu with... a gingerbread house? Something like that.

Selena Gomez joins the fun. Lookin' good!

Yuri bundles up for a fashion shoot  harsh winter over there in Seoul.

Awww...

Woa, an American? How did that get in here?! Must've snuck in with Selena Gomez...

A series of Christmas performances by T-ara (see below).

Sistar's Christmas card to all of us.

AAAAW TIFFANY... YOUR CHRISTMAS SELCA IS BETTER THAN SANTA!!!

Merry Christmas from your favorite couple! This collection of Eunji holiday pics were found on Tumblr.

Jiyeonie...

So, those are terrific. And then we have a few Christmas greetings by way of video...

This was Sistar from last year. So cute!

T-ara's greetings from this year.

SNSD way back in 2010

Ailee this year... in English! Yaaay!

Miss A from last year.

And now, a collection of my favorite Christmas performances. Enjoy!

The Countdown Continues

So yesterday, remember how all those teaser pics were released?
Well today SM published a COMPLETELY NEW BATCH!!! Like, Seohyun's official one leaked yesterday, so no new one for her... but OMG SM ARE YOU GOING TO DO THIS EVERY FREAKING DAY???

I don't know how they can afford to do that... If these pictures will be used in a photobook or something, how can they?

On that note, here ya go:

TIFANNY!!! OMG, she looks like YOONA here. Totally bizarre.  Wow, that hair color is super awesome!!!

Jessica, OMG. I love these pictures because they are closer up. Her hair is awesome.
Plus she has those cutesy little eye gems.
And lol, does that badge say Sweet Potato? Awesome.

OH MY GOD THANK GOODNESS.
Pant pant pant.
Oh, thank god.
Sunny! Your hair is back to purple! Awesome purple! Not crazy yellow-green! Cuz that would be DISGUSTING!
Phew. Phew. Phew. THANK YOU SUNNY.

Woooooooa. Yuri.... you are so freaking punk. You're gonna rock this comeback.
Oh, I really really REALLY hope SM gives her more air time!
She barely had any lines in Flower Power.
I WANT MORE YURI! Her voice is so nice... I like it.

Aw... aren't you cute, Sooyoung. Green suits her.  She has sort of a green voice.
Her hair bunch is really cute.

Yoona. Yayayayayayay. Yoona. YAAAAY.
Her eyes are back to normal :).

YAAAAAAAY YAY YAY YAY YAY YAAAAAY!

OMG AAAAAH. Her hair is back to normal! And it's awesome! So cute! Taengoo!

Yup, still this....

Soshi Sneak Peaks

The rest of the teaser pictures for SNSD's comeback have been released! I was surprised, because it is very unusual for a company to release them all at once, but perhaps they were just leaked... anyways, they are on allkpop. And I will now show them to you!

Seohyun! She looks so cute!
In some ways, the long shirt plays off better without shorts at all, instead of an attempt at mini-shorts.
I love her hair all fluffy, and her eyeliner is super awesome.

Taeyeon... rrgh, PLEASE don't wear a blond wig in the music video!
When you're actually blond and well styled, you look awesome, but...
SM has a bad history with blond wigs! Sunny in Flower Power, You and Tiffany in Hoot...
Sigh...

Jessica... where are you? Did you kill that unicorn? This theme looks so color bleary in an awesome way...
Love your hair!

...
What the frigging hell, Sunny?
What are you doing?
WHAT IS UP WITH YOUR HAIR?
IT'S FREAKING GREEN???

WHAT THE HEEEEECK??? This is the weirdest picture of Sunny ever! You can't even tell who she is! If this picture were floating around the internet, I would NOT RECOGNIZE HER.
...
Unless I saw the Sunny hat. But still.
I HATE THIS PICTURE.

Tiffany! You look so beautiful! You're like a fluffy goddess!!!
Tiffany totally rocks this hair color. I like the floaty chopped style, but in the teaser, the long waviness was also awesome.

Way to go Hyoyeon! You ride that plastic horse! You paint your hair rainbow!

OMIGOD YURI AWESOMENESS AAAAAAAAAH!!!

I actually really really like this picture. More than some of the others (coughsunnycough).
Sooyoung isn't a huge favorite of mine, but here she looks totally awesome. I love this style for all of them.
With one notable exception (coughsunnycough).

OH MY GOD YOONA YOUR EYES ARE FREAKING BLUE!!!
I don't know what face she's making but OMG!!!

Additional Seohyun picture officially released. I guess maybe the others were leaked, but then they'll each get additional ones? Hmm...

Well that was AWESOME. Hwaiting! Can't wait!

~Julia

P.S. Rrrgh, can't wait for T-ara's teasers...
