T-araN4

It's Friday the twelfth... and that means we know more about T-ara's subunit!

The subunit is named T-araN4, which apparently stands for "T-ara Brand New Four." I'm not thrilled with this title. As with Sistar19, subgroup names that just stick random numbers or letters onto the end of their name as a full group just aren't that interesting. Not that TaeTiSeo was that creative... but I was hoping for some cool title! Like Orange Caramel gets their own cool name.

Anyways, the name doesn't really matter. What matters are the girls and the music!

Speaking of girls, this information was released along with Hyomin's teaser picture! It's not what I was expecting from Jiyeon's - Hyomin is dressed much more simply (if exotically stylish) and has wet-yet-epic hair. It makes me wonder if the others will look just as unique in their promotion posters.

I like this picture more than Jiyeon's. Even though Jiyeon looked stunning and the background was a lot sleeker and less cluttered, Hyomin is wearing a Hyomin expression, while Jiyeon was wearing a not-quite-Jiyeon face. They both look gorgeous!

You can see on the poster that it says "Would you mind waiting a bit longer?" and then crosses out the current date, replacing it with 4.15 - April 15th. That is when the next teaser poster will be released. Will it be Eunjung or Areum? Who knows? Whichever, I can't wait!

Also, according to t-araworld.net, the next poster will be accompanied by a music teaser for the song. I like how each one comes with new information and a date for the next release - like a treasure hunt. I'm predicting that the final poster will come with an actual music video teaser. It seems as if these are being released every three days, so far, but that would suck if after getting the mv teaser (On April 18th, if this pattern continues) we would have to wait more than a week before getting the full thing.

Looking forwards to their comeback on the first of May!

T-ara's Sub-unit of Epicness

This has actually been on my brain for a long time, but there was a lot of uncertainty surrounding the topic, so I didn't feel confident talking about it until two days ago. Then I got into my blogger mode and took a stand!

I suppose it will be most effective to get to the meat of the matter first, and then explain the treacherous backstory.

Okay, here it goes.

T-ARA IS MAKING A KOREAN COMEBACK.

OR SHOULD I SAY...

T-ARA'S SUB-UNIT!!!

That's right. Considering that they have been around for four years and had reached the status of third most popular girl group in Korea, it's surprising that they haven't taken this step a long time ago. They might have been preparing it when Hwayoung left the group, heavily denting their popularity.

Anyways, guess who the members are?

EUNJUNG

HYOMING

AREUM

AND FREAKING JIYEON.

Y'all know me, cuz y'all ARE me, so you understand that this is like a dream come true. It can't go wrong! They'll each get so much more screen time and lines too... so happy.

The name of the group will be revealed tomorrow (Friday the twelfth) and the single - "Country Life" will be released May 1st. The concept seems to be similar to their Breaking Heart look. I hope the name is something jewelry related. Like "Diamond" or "Ring" or something. Because that would match with T-ara/tiara!

Luckily for us, we have been gifted with Jiyeon's amazing teaser picture... I don't know when she had time to do that to her hair, but it looks epic. It kind of reminds me of the weird hair changes that occurred with SNSD's "I Got a Boy" comeback, but this is kind of cooler, if I'm aloud to say that...

I have mixed feelings about this teaser picture. It's obvious that Jiyeon will look stunning in this concept, and I'm eager to see how it suits the other members... but at the same time, this isn't the most Jiyeon-ish picture possible. I know that that happens all the time with kpop pictures, but her expression is just... a non-familiar expression on Jiyeon's face. I can't wait to see her in the music video too.

Okay, so what happened with this story? Well, maybe two weeks ago, Allkpop reported CCM announcing this sub-unit and I was soooo happy. Then t-araworld.com had an article, and all the other sites fallowed some time after... but, the very next day, there were some comments on the allkpop article that said "No, this is fake, the company denied it, they were hacked..." or something like that.

I didn't really believe them but when I went to check t-araworld.com, the article had been TAKEN DOWN, probably just due to uncertainty. I was so confused and it made my heart break because it WOULD have been the best sub-unit ever.

Then allkpop released another article saying that there were more details about the concept... it was just fuzzy.

Luckily, everything has been cleared up. The company reassured the fans, t-araworld.com posted another article and everything is good now.

The one icky-ish feeling I have is that the comments that the company made about the comeback were a little... over-confident. They made aspirations to dance anthems like YMCA and Gangnam Style, which frankly I just think is a BAD IDEA. I'm sure the comeback will be amazing and catchy and sexy and will blow everyone out of the water, but comparing it to Gangnam Style... I just doubt it will work. Nothing can match Gangnam Style, and T-ara might receive hate for not living up to the hinted glory.

Sigh. So excited!

Allkpop is Fucking Stupid

Allkpop made a list of 10 predictions for 2013 in the kpop world.

One was that T-ara would break up.

WHAT.

NO.

NEVER.

Despite loosing so much popularity due to stupid media, T-ara's still got a wonderful position among top Kpop Groups, particularly abroad in countries like Japan and Malasia that aren't so freaking gullible. They've fought so hard to try their best to please their fans and continue to release fantastic songs such as Sexy Love. Hwayoung's been showing support for them, while working on her acting career. They've been trying so hard.

To think that they'll give up NOW, after they've all they've been through to work past the bad press and regain their status as AMAZING PEOPLE, there is no way that they can call it quits. They've endured to much to survive already. The hardest part of their journey has passed - now they can finally move forwards!

ALLKPOP, YOU SHUT UP OR I WILL PUNCH YOU IN THE FACE!!!

That's seriously how mad this makes me. Stupid stupid stupid.

And like, the things people say are RIDICULOUS. Most of the fans seem to be causing a positive turn in the negative tides, but for example, on this article about Hyosung saving Jieun in Secret's car crash, there were all these comments like "T-ara, are you paying attention to this?" and shit and I was like "HOW CAN YOU FUCKING SAY THAT???" T-ara still has a tight bond, especially Hyomin, Jiyeon, and Eunjung. They loved Hwayoung too, and what CCM did is NOT THEIR FAULT.

It just drives me fucking CRAZY.

So there. End of rant. Sorry for dirtying this blog with crude language. Hmph. I'll stop if allkpop stops supporting vile internet cruelty.

Merry Christmas from our Favorite Celebs

It's really sweet that all these kpop people take the time to wish us lower folk their best on this hugely celebrated holiday. I have a large degree of christmas wanting right now. Sigh. It's not just because everyone else is celebrating it. It just seems like such a fun, cozy thing to do. Christmas tree. Presents in the morning, waiting for you all at once. Cookies. Friends. Family. Dad not being sad and lonely.
Maybe next year we could celebrate Christmas.

Anyways, tumblr and twitter are roiling with tweets and pictures and instagrams of celebrities in reindeer ears and Santa hats and whatnot. Really cute. Here are some of my favorite christmas pics all through the ages.

Jessica gets stylish in her new Santa hat.

2NE1 buckle up for a sleigh ride in their costumes as... sexy pink penguins.
From left to right: Minzy, Bom, Dara, and CL (!!)

After School have developed by far the most extravagant setting, as they lounge on a stack of giant presents,
managing to display both their extremely long legs, and their brilliant gold ribbon outfits.

SNSD in various sweaters, socks, antlers, and... high heeled converse. Wow.
From left to right: Yoona, Seohyun, Jessica, Sooyoung, Tiffany, Yuri, Taeyeon, Sunny, and Hyoyeon.
I don't know when they took this picture, but they are all very cute.

Secret seem to be huddled up very cozily on these long winter nights.
From left to right: Hyosung, Jieun, Zinger, and Sunhwa (wow, I can't believe I was able to do that!)

This shot was taken from Sistar's Christmas greetings video last year, which you can see below.

T-ara so young! Pre-Hwayoung, even. They look so cute! I love how all of the other girls are in these
knee high seductive bathrobe things, while Eunjung's just gloppin around in a big snowman suit. :)
Plus Qri's a tree.... AAAAAW...
From left to right: Qri, Soyeon, Boram, Hyomin, Jiyeon, and Eunjung.

Jia posted this picture to her fans. Nice and... morbid, Jia!

AAAAAW! Thank you instagram! This is Jia cuddling with her adorable little kitten.

Someone's a little impatient over at JYP...

Jessica... my little snow angel....

A recent picture of Soyu with... a gingerbread house? Something like that.

Selena Gomez joins the fun. Lookin' good!

Yuri bundles up for a fashion shoot  harsh winter over there in Seoul.

Awww...

Woa, an American? How did that get in here?! Must've snuck in with Selena Gomez...

A series of Christmas performances by T-ara (see below).

Sistar's Christmas card to all of us.

AAAAW TIFFANY... YOUR CHRISTMAS SELCA IS BETTER THAN SANTA!!!

Merry Christmas from your favorite couple! This collection of Eunji holiday pics were found on Tumblr.

Jiyeonie...

So, those are terrific. And then we have a few Christmas greetings by way of video...

This was Sistar from last year. So cute!

T-ara's greetings from this year.

Ailee this year... in English! Yaaay!

Miss A from last year.

And now, a collection of my favorite Christmas performances. Enjoy!

The Signing Angst

Angst angst angst.
Everything on eBay comes with signed editions of albums and stuff! At only $20!

My plan is to request of my parents one ore two of So Cool, Black Eyes, and Breaking Heart.

I don't need signed stuff from T-ara - so many signatures. I'll go to individual cards or posters for that.

But the top result for Sistar So Cool is a signed copy... for $20 rather than fifteen. It has this big badge:

FREE ADDITIONAL SIGNED PHOTO SET.

In red. Plus rather obvious signatures on the picture. Do you think Mom will just skim over it looking for the best price? Or think it doesn't really matter?

Or will she see it, at only $5 more, and be like "Oh my gosh, that would make Julia so unbelievably happy!" I almost want to request specifically that I get the signed copy... but I don't want to go up and say that, it would be better if they could surprise me...

Maybe I could set Benj up to the task? He couldn't buy it himself, but he could conspire with Mom... I'll talk to him later. I just have this urge.

There are signed copies of every freaking Sistar thing (and T-ara, really) and I'm like "Screw this, I should just buy it all myself!"

The cheap copies of the T-ara photobook are still available. Hang in there! Surely most people will have already rushed to get them... Of course, I know I'll always be able to get them at sale price. Is it worth $50?
...
HELL YES!!! I'm insane like that.

But even if the five $27 copies get snatched up (which I'm trying to doubt, seeing as how long they've already been there, but maybe other people will get them for holiday presents too? Good thing Hannukah's so early this year...) there are still more expensive $40 and $35 copies available.

I'm having photobook angst. And album angst. I need to think about what I AM getting soon for certain. My macbook. At least one album. Look at my lists. Calm down.

Stop being bad.

T-ara Chair Count

On the prophet blog there was an article about the dance music video for Day by Day. It said something like this:

"In the new visual, the girls can be seen performing Jonte Moaning’s expressive choreography in an abandoned brick building, in between individual cuts of them looking like flawless beauties as they pose on a an old brown arm chair (okay, it’s mostly just cuts of Jiyeon, but whatever)."

I was like "Okay, that's likely, since Jiyeon is the face of the group as well as unbelievable sexy, but is that really true? There was a lot of Eunjung in there too, as I recall..."

So I went back and watched, keeping careful tally. The results were as follows:

Areum	5
Boram	3
Eunjung	11
Hwayoung	8
Hyomin	15
Jiyeon	20
Qri	6
Soyeon	4

As predicted, Jiyeon outstripped the competition by a wide margin. The range in chair shots was actually surprisingly large. For some reason Qri, who unfortunately has often been ignored by the company, has more shots than Soyeon, the leader.
...
I mean, Soyeon had a lot of close up shots. I dunno. So did everyone. I didn't count those.
Hyomin came in second, then Eunjung.

I feel sad about the unbalanced-ness, but let's just revel in the glory of Jiyeon in a chair and forget about it.

Stupid Core Contents Media

T-ARA's releasing a new photobook. Of them. In Europe. Being awesome. 500 photos. 15 dollars. It's possibly the most amazing thing in the universe. EVER. Like, pictures. Of. T-ara. What more do you need really? Even though T-ara isn't my favorite group, their products make me spazz.

It's unbelievable that it's about to come out.

With 7,000 copies.
Only.
Ever.
To be distributed between 65,00 rabid fans.
Fans who are much more prepared financially for this sort of thing.

WHAT THE FREAKING HECK.

The good news is that I can't find anywhere to preorder it, despite the published rumors of mass reservations. I'm hoping that means that when CCM postponed the release to October, they decided to print a crapload more copies. Or keep producing them. Or SOMETHING.

I hope they'll realize that they'll get just as much money making enough copies for eveyone. I want it so badly. I'll do whatever it takes to get it. Maybe with gift money this december? Surely there'll be some good prices on eBay when it comes out?

I don't want Mom and Dad to think I'm spending too fast.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE RECONSIDER CCM!
PLEEEEEEAAAAASE!!!
So depressing :(

UPDATE: Okay, online it says there will be only copies of "the limited edition". Does this mean that they will later release more copies? Will they have less pictures? Different format? This is driving me insane.

UPDATE: Soooo.... CCM announced that they will be releasing 7,000 more copies of the photobook.
...
Mom says that means it's just a ploy and there's a ton of them in stock somewhere to be sneakily fed to the rising bids in prices.

But their old photobook, Sparkle, costs like $80 on eBay right now. On EBAY. I'm just like please pease please PLEASE stay reasonable till December, so I can buy you! The pre-order price is currently around $30.

I'm willing to pay that much.
I'm worried prices will spike once it's available...

Meanwhile, T-ara is also releasing this "compilation" of stuff from 209-2012. There are three different editions you can buy:

Music CD + Music Video DVD + Photobook = $70
Music CD + Music Video DVD = $50
Music CD = $30

The covers are all group pictures of them from their Europe tour. Like the Free Time photobook. I don't know if the photobook is, includes, or is part of their other photobook... but I must find out! The music video and songs don't include Day by Day or Sexy Love or anything. Honestly I wouldn't want it without the photobook.
Besides, apparently the other photobook comes with a compilation disk too...
I've only found one place to order it, so no other price estimates thus far...

UPDATE: Okay, Compilation Thing is NOT the Free Time photobook. It has like 70 pictures from the tour, which I believe are included in the other book. I've seen some sneak peak music videos from the Free Time and it looks SO AWESOME.
But anyways, conclusion is that Compilation Thing is not worth buying without their most recent releases.

Kpop Groups and Beyond

I am in to four real groups. Actually, five I suppose. I'll list some stats from each group below.

SISTAR

My fave group as well as my first - the four members shine beautifully and they have amazing songs. They come from a not-so-big company, but have become total world super stars in only two years.

Members:
-Soyu
-Dasom
-Bora
-Hyorin

Hits:
-Push Push
-How Dare You
-Alone
-So Cool
-Loving U

Leader: Hyorin
Main Vocals: Hyorin
Maknae: Dasom
Rapper: Bora
Main Dancer: Bora
Face: N/A
Bias: Soyu!

MISS A

These girls are sort of more badassy, apart from their recent release, but apart from performances, they make it no secret of how sweet they are. I am most impressed by their dancing and coordination as a group.

Members:
-Jia
-Min
-Fei
-Suzy

Hits:
Bad Girl Good Girl
Goodbye Baby
Touch
Breathe (which I personally dislike, but whatever)

Leader: I dunno... I thought it was Min but I've heard that it's Fei...?
Main Vocals: Min
Maknae: Suzy
Rapper: Jia
Main Dancer: Jia
Face: Suzy
Bias: Jia, I guess (Although I love Min to death)

GIRLS GENERATION (SNSD)

This is like the most popular kpop group EVER. ANYWHERE. They are super awesome. Nine members. They have a subgroup, TaeTiSeo, that have released one album so far.

Members:
Yoona
Yuri
Seohyun
Sooyung
Hyoyeon
Taeyeon
Tiffany
Sunny
Jessica

Hits:
Oh!
Hoot
Paparazzi
Genie
Gee
Mr. Taxi
The Boys
Run Devil Run

Leader: Taeyeon
Main Vocals: Taeyeon
Maknae: Seohyun
Rapper: There isn't really a rapper... Yuri and Tiffany are the ones that will on occasion though.
Dancer: Hyoyeon
Face: Yoona
Bias: Taeyeon and Tiffany... Taeyeon more, maybe, but Tiffany is still epic.

T-ARA

T-ara is really popular, but a bunch of people have began hating them after this bullying scandal. I have reviewed all the articles, videos, and "evidence", and concluded that although there was conflict at the point called to attention, there was no prior ongoing disagreement or cruelty or anything. I believe strongly that I am right.

Members:
Hyomin
Soyeon
Eunjung
Jiyeon
Boram
Qri
Areum - new member!
Hwayoung - former member :(
Dani - soon to be member!

Hits:
Bo Peep Bo Peep
Cry Cry
Lovey Dovey
Day by Day
Make me Crazy
Roly Poly
Sexy Love
Breaking Heart

Leader: Soyeon
Main Vocal: Soyeon
Maknae: (Was Jiyeon, then Hwayoung, then Areum, now to be Dani!)
Rapper: Areum (Main rapper was Hwayoung, other rappers include Eunjung and Hyomin)
Dancer: Jiyeon
Face: Jiyeon
Bias: JIYEON

ACE OF ANGELS

This is a rookie group, only debuting last... March? April? Something like that. There are eight members. Five of them are actually in a band, with instruments and stuff. Seven are in a typical dancy pop formation. The drummer does not dance or sing, but she is still a member. The seven all participate on the recording, but sometimes only the band members perform.

Members:
Chanmi
Mina
Choa
Yuna
Hyejeong
Seolhyun
Jimin
Youkyung
